Therapy for Expecting and New Moms

Remember what makes you feel good

Becoming a mother is taking on a new identity. This can sometimes mean feeling as though you lose parts of yourself in the process. We will work together to uncover and reestablish those pieces to help you feel whole again.

Letting Go of Shoulds

From pregnancy to postpartum, the experience for some of us isn’t always easy or happy or “as it should be.” There’s no shame in seeking out help; in fact, it’s your first lesson in parenting: it really does take a village and we have to ask for help when we need it.

I understand how you’re feeling and I want to work with you so that you can:

Know that it’s not your fault. As an expectant or new mom, it’s easy to blame yourself for not feeling the way that you “should” or feeling “wrong.” You’re not alone in feeling that way, and I am here to help you feel more supported.

Learn to love this new version of you. Pregnancy and motherhood have a massive impact on your identity as a person, but it doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Together, we’ll navigate this uncharted territory, helping you mourn the loss of your old self to begin to love who you are becoming.

Your feelings are valid. When it comes to women’s health, it's not uncommon to feel unheard or dismissed. I provide you with the space to share what you’re feeling without judgment or correction.

Engage in conversation with your anxiety. Acknowledge the anxiety you are feeling around this new experience, and empower yourself to confront it so that it doesn’t prevent you from being fully present.

Feel more connected. To your partner, to your baby, to yourself.

I’m Here to Support You

I want you to know that you’re not alone in how you feel and want to make sure that you have the tools you need to start feeling better. Through one-on-one sessions, we’ll work these feelings together in order for you to become more hopeful about this season of your life.
